Participants Break 7,000 Mark

The number of members of participating delegations in the 21st Universiade had reached 7,012 by 8 p.m. last night, according to the Accreditation Center of the Universiade Organizing Committee.

Vault Takes on New Look

A new style of vault is to be used in the gymnastics competition at the 21st Universiade. The new design was adopted by the International Gymnastics Federation in April and has already been used in competition in Europe, but this is the first time for it to be used in China.

Penalties to Separate Tied Teams

All tied football games at the 21st Universiade will go to penalties after 90 minutes. At the group stage, however, teams will still take one point each from the draw in regulation time.
