The Palace Museum The Forbidden City
In 1406, Emperor Yong Le of the Ming Dynasty began building the Forbidden City. Despite numerous renovations and expansions by later emperors, it remains today more or less the same as the original structure, in appearance and size. The Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, is located in the heart of Beijing.
