‘A circular economy’: It’s about more than just recycling

“Compulsory insurance can provide workers in energy production fields with better protection and make it easier for the governments to cope with any accidents that may happen during the production process,” said Zhou Yanli, vice president of the Chinese Insurance Regulation Committee, at the High-profile Forum on China Energy Strategy held yesterday during the CHITEC.

Huge crude oil gap in 2010

The country will have consumed around 350 million tons of crude oil by the end of 2010, with a supply gap of over 150 million tons, and the shortage may increase to over 250 million tons by the end of 2020, according to Huang Shuhe, deputy director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

China to purchase electricity from Russia

China has signed an agreement with its neighboring countries including Russian and ASEAN (Association of South-East Asian Nations) on electricity transportation, disclosed Shu Yinbiao, Vice President. State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) at Wednesday’s high-profile Forum on China’s Energy Strategy.
